DEEP DTI DEEP LEARNING : Obtein Insights on Smart Tourism Destination Data

Technological innovation Project between Galgus R&D + i Department, Elliot Cloud and Smart City Cluster.
To research, develop, and deploy a prototype of a location analytics system for tracking, counting, and segmenting visitors and tourists in a Smart Tourist Destination (STD).
Proposals 2022. Duration 01/08/2022 – 29/04/2023 Partners Smart City Cluster Galgus Elliot Cloud Project Budget 350.222€ Grant 280.222€ The main objective of this project is to research, develop, and deploy a prototype of a location analytics system for tracking, counting, and segmenting visitors and tourists in a Smart Tourist Destination (STD), using the signals emitted by their smartphones, with all the guarantees of privacy and anonymity of the data.
The system is completely passive, which avoids tourists having to install applications, grant permissions, activate their GPS, as well as turn on their Bluetooth or WiFi. It is enough for them to pass near the sensor nodes (APs – access points) to contribute to the analytics, and the data is provided in a completely aggregated and anonymized manner, without the possibility of being crossed with personal or sensitive data of individuals. These sensors will be provided by Galgus, which has them. The differential value of this project is therefore in the data processing algorithms that are researched, implemented, and validated in the field. This project will greatly benefit both the participating innovative companies and the recipients of the technology to be developed (City Councils, Public Administrations, Smart Tourist Destination managers, hotel chains, luxury resorts, convention centers, etc.).
