For the first time ever, Galgus exhibited at one of the main events of the WiFi industry. The Wireless Global Congress organized by the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) was held at the Westin Grand Frankfurt in Germany on September the 29th<\/sup> and October the 1st<\/sup>. Galgus booth hosted numerous meetings with professionals from the industry and its CEO, Jose Gonzalez, had the opportunity to address a presentation about Galgus\u2019 disruptive Software-Defined WiFi technology.<\/em><\/p>\n

The event gathered WBA members and industry partners for one of the world\u2019s leading WiFi events. The topics of the Wireless Global Congress included: enterprise wireless<\/strong>, WiFi evolution and monetization<\/strong>, In-Flight WiFi<\/strong>, WiFi 6 for enterprise verticals<\/strong>, In-Home Wi-Fi experience<\/strong> and IoT and connected vehicles<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

During two days of event, Galgus held about 40 business meetings at its booth with companies and professionals from more than 15 countries. There, Galgus was able not just to explain its technology, but to address a presentation about Galgus\u2019 Software-Defined WiFi<\/strong> in front of an audience of around one hundred experts and decision makers of the WiFi industry. The Software-Defined WiFi paradigm proposes the independence of the software from the hardware, allowing the network owner to choose the Access Points (APs) that best fit his needs and budget, and then install Cognitive HotspotTM Technology (CHT) to unleash all the potential. Thanks to this, a commodity AP becomes an enterprise-grade AP with a simple software update of less than 1 minute. To highlight Gonzalez\u2019 presentation, he remarked: \u201cwe believe in the Software-Defined WIFi as the future for the enterprise wireless networks, where a high level of simplicity and cost-effectiveness are needed today<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n

Besides that, Galgus was shortlisted for the Wireless Broadband Alliance 2019 Awards<\/strong> at the \u201cBest Enterprise WiFi Network Award\u201d<\/strong> category. Finally, the award was granted to Panasonic, but, for Galgus, being shortlisted was an award itself just by feeling so close to the big names of the WiFi industry shortlisted for the different categories awarded.<\/p>\n

About the Wireless Broadband Alliance<\/strong><\/p>\n

Founded in 2003, the vision of the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) is to drive seamless, interoperable service experiences via WiFi within the global wireless ecosystem. WBA\u2019s mission is to enable collaboration between service providers, technology companies and organizations to achieve that vision. WBA undertakes programs and activities to address business and technical issues, as well as opportunities, for member companies.<\/p>\n

WBA work areas include advocacy, industry guidelines, trials and certification. Its key programs include NextGen Wi-Fi, 5G, IoT, Testing & Interoperability and Roaming, with member-led Work Groups dedicated to resolving standards and technical issues to promote end-to-end services and accelerate business opportunities. WBA\u2019s membership is comprised of major operators and leading technology companies, including Broadcom, BSNL, Orange, Facebook, Google, HPE Aruba, Huawei, Microsoft, NTT DOCOMO Ruckus, Shaw, SK Telecom and T-Mobile US.<\/p>\n
