The project PTQ-15-07692, funded by the Spanish Government’s Torres Quevedo grant, has successfully completed its first year.<\/p>\n

The project, entitled “Study of performance optimization of WiFi wireless networks in high user density environments by applying blind interference cancellation techniques in MU-MIMO systems”<\/em>, aims to study and implement methods to improve interference mitigation in WiFi environments<\/strong>, focusing on 802.11ac and 802.11ax standards.<\/p>\n

To this end, in this first year we have studied in depth the recent advances in the state-of-the-art <\/strong>regarding machine learning and signal processing techniques for interference cancellation, as well as the new 802.11 standards (trade name WiFi).<\/p>\n

In addition, a simulation environment<\/strong> has been developed to test algorithms, implementing key features of the physical and MAC layers of the standard, including MIMO, OFDM, frame injection and multipath propagation, among other characteristics.<\/p>\n

During the second year<\/strong>, the chosen algorithms will be simulated and real implementation in a real laboratory prototype using Software-Defined Radios (SDRs) will be explored.<\/p>\n
