{"id":21160,"date":"2023-10-12T09:38:31","date_gmt":"2023-10-12T07:38:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.galgus.ai\/?p=21160"},"modified":"2023-10-20T09:41:02","modified_gmt":"2023-10-20T07:41:02","slug":"galgus-skypass-5g-wifi-airports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.galgus.ai\/en\/blog\/galgus-skypass-5g-wifi-airports\/","title":{"rendered":"Galgus SkyPass for 5G + WiFi convergence in airports wins UNICO grant of 790,000 euros"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It is one of the 7 beneficiary projects of the <strong>UNICO 5G Sectorial 2023<\/strong> grants to carry out experimental development projects for 5G applications and services that have an impact on the digital transformation of key economic sectors for the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In total, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation has awarded \u20ac9.5 million to projects that will directly benefit other Spanish companies and mobilise public-private investment of \u20ac21.6 million. <strong>Of these, Galgus has been awarded more than 790,000 euros.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GalgusConnect solution, improved and extended by this SkyPass project, is a technology that enables an airport user&#8217;s mobile device to <strong>automatically switch from the 5G operator&#8217;s network to the WiFi network<\/strong>, without outages and without collaboration or disturbance from the user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this way, travellers get <strong>a seamless and enhanced connectivity experience<\/strong> thanks to the speed and robustness to high traffic demands and high user density offered by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.galgus.ai\/en\/cht\/\">Galgus CHT technology<\/a>. All this <strong>without having to intervene<\/strong> at any time and safeguarding their privacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.galgus.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Galgus-SkyPass-para-la-convergencia-5G-WiFi-en-aeropuertos.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.galgus.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Galgus-SkyPass-para-la-convergencia-5G-WiFi-en-aeropuertos.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.galgus.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Galgus-SkyPass-para-la-convergencia-5G-WiFi-en-aeropuertos-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.galgus.ai\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Galgus-SkyPass-para-la-convergencia-5G-WiFi-en-aeropuertos-768x512.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, SkyPass includes an advanced version of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.galgus.ai\/en\/locationanalytics\/\">Location &amp; Presence Analytics<\/a> for real-time analysis of people flows through the airport. Thanks to this information, airport managers can make evidence-based decisions to improve the quality of services. They can even share data with other airports that also have this deployment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For telecom operators, SkyPass brings a <strong>reduction in the load<\/strong> on their networks, thereby improving network performance, as well as quality of experience (QoE) and subscriber feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this help, Galgus contributes to bring, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lamoncloa.gob.es\/serviciosdeprensa\/notasprensa\/asuntos-economicos\/Paginas\/2023\/021023-ayudas-proyectos-tecnologias-5g.aspx\">words of the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure<\/a>, Mar\u00eda Gonz\u00e1lez Veracruz, &#8220;Technological improvements to <strong>improve people&#8217;s lives, optimise resources and take very important steps towards environmental sustainability&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Extremely happy and satisfied with this achievement, we will keep you informed of all the developments in the Galgus SkyPass project.
